The year 2020 was a horrible year. Pascha 2021 has made it possible for Christians to observe Holy Week services back in their Churches. For this we can be grateful to the crucified and risen lord for taking mercy on the whole of humanity.
There are still parts of the world (Europe, India) that are enduring lockdowns. This is a reminder that Covid has not gone away. With the grace of God however, Covid will be eradicated and humanity will regain its freedom. With the resurrection of Christ, death has been vanquished. Glory to God in the highest!
Things look much better than they did last year. Prayers should be said for the people around the world who died from covid. Prayers should also be said for the Doctors and Nurses who performed so brilliantly in emergency rooms following the outbreak of Covid last year. They bravely put their own lives at risk to help others.
We are all fortunate that the vaccines were developed much quicker that was originally expected. With the increasing number of vaccinations the quicker that life around the world will return to normal.
Christ is risen! Glory to him in the highest!

Hopefully people will take vaccination seriously, we need 70-80% vaccinated to get this pandemic under control and start to recede. I really get fed-up when I hear folks exclaim ‘Getting vaccinated is a matter of personal choice.’, as if they have no civic responsibility. We’re all in this together and the longer the virus remains a pandemic the more likely it is for new strains to develop which may be more virulent and deadly.
Greece and Cyprus in particular need to aggressively vaccinate, because their economies are reliant on tourism income. Only 10% of Greeks to date are fully vaccinated with 20% having received one dose. The vaccine is available, it’s just a question of Greeks and Cypriots making it a priority. It’s up to them.
With that said, hopefully 2021 will be a better year than 2020 was. I remember some dark days back in early 2020-thank goodness we had livestream from my Church to attend services and Wednesday evening classes. That provided a lot of comfort at least to me during those anxiety filled days.

Vaccinations are moving ahead. The problem are the conspiracy theorists. People need to be reasonable. If they are reasonable and
listen to real medical experts this thing will be defeated.
Exactly. I heard on the radio this morning that 46% of congressional Republicans have no plans to get vaccinated. It shames me as a Republican that the party I support can be so foolish and ignorant. This pandemic may have been used to political purposes by the Dems, but it’s a genuine concern-I talk every day to people in China, Korea, Japan, Thailand, Germany and other nations. They are all battling the same pandemic we are.
The GOP has two wings, one is the old-school, conservative wing developed by thinking people like Bill Buckley. The other is a reactionary wing composed primarily of conspiracy believing nitwits. I repudiate that wing, just as I detest the Left Wing of the Democrat Party. Today, we need centrist Republicans and Democrats to work together and repudiate the destructive wings of our parties.
